What it takes
Proficiency in penetration testing, secure code review, vulnerability assessments and remediation is needed, as is subject matter expertise in areas of authentication, authorization, cryptography and network and application security. It is helpful to understand the UNIX and Windows OS, networking, the TCP/IP protocol and firewalls.Compensation
Enterprise programming and scripting languages are a plus. Salaries range from $75k-$90k for juniors to $100k-plus for seniors.
