U.S. software solutions provider Connexure, formerly known as Young Consulting, had information from 954,177 individuals compromised following a BlackSuit ransomware attack in April, reports BleepingComputer.
Infiltration of Connexure's network resulted in the exfiltration of individuals' full names, birthdates, Social Security numbers, and insurance claim details, said the firm in newly issued data breach notifications, which urged recipients to be wary of potential phishing and scamming attempts. Connexure's disclosure comes months after the BlackSuit ransomware gang exposed the stolen data, which it claims included business contracts, contacts, and presentations, as well as employees' contracts, passports, family information, medical exams, financial audits, payments, and other personal folder and network share data. Such a development comes weeks after BlackSuit, which was most recently involved in the widespread CDK Global outage, was reported by the FBI and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to have amassed more than $500 million in ransom demands since initially appearing as the Royal ransomware gang two years ago.
